Its the time of year when the neighbours are partying and the visitors are upon us all. So it seemed a timely time to remind everyone of the need to allow “peaceful enjoyment” of the property for everyone. The standard by-laws of a unit complex state that ” An occupier of a Lot shall not create noise likely to interfere with the peaceful enjoyment of a person lawfully on another lot or common property & “An occupier of a lot shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that his invitees do not behave in a manner likely to interfere with the peaceful enjoyment of the occupier of another lot or any person lawfully using the common property.
” Please remember that other people live closely over this period as well and if you are going to have a few drinks or a gathering on the verandah then it should be taken INSIDE by about 10pm. Similarly if you are the person living next door to the gathering that is happening in the complex – remember it IS Christmas and give a little bit of compassion and if at 10pm they are still going then a simple request to the occupants is taken much better than yelling from one balcony to another.
By the same token please remember that every complex only has so many car parks and even if you feel your “visitors” have a right to be parked on the common property there is a limit of time on how long you can be there so consider others and share these good car parks with the other occupants. Most of all don’t go thinking – the owners of Unit 11 are never here and park in their car park because there is NOTHING more annoying than turning up at your unit for an impromptu visit to find someone is in your car park. Its a unit complex and not a house – there are other people to consider at ALL times and Christmas is a time for giving.
Lets make it a safe and HAPPY Christmas for everyone in unit complexes across the Coast. North Shore Body Corporate will be closed from Midday 23rd December and re-open at 9am on Monday 10th January. To all our Clients and to all unit owners and occupants alike Have a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year. From Cathy and the crew at North Shore Body Corporate.
